FOOD INTOLERANCES

vs. Allergies: Understanding the Difference

Is Your Body Reacting to the Foods You Eat?

Food intolerances can manifest in a variety of ways, from bloating and fatigue to skin rashes, constipation, or even irritable bowel syndrome. These symptoms can appear immediately after eating or take up to three hours—or even three weeks—to fully surface. Unlike food allergies, which can trigger severe, life-threatening reactions, food intolerances create chronic discomfort and health issues over time.

What People Get Wrong: Food Intolerances Are Not Allergies

Food intolerances don’t require a trip to the emergency room or the use of an EpiPen, but they can significantly impact your quality of life. These intolerances often involve common foods you’ve been consuming for months or years in a gut that has become compromised or “leaky.”

When the gut lining weakens, microscopic food particles can escape into your body, triggering an immune response. This may result in symptoms such as aches, pains, bloating, acid reflux, or digestive issues like constipation and diarrhea. These signals are your body’s way of asking for help, and ignoring them can lead to worsening symptoms over time.

How Food Intolerance Testing Speeds Healing

Instead of guessing through elimination diets, targeted food intolerance testing offers a faster, more effective way to identify which foods are causing your discomfort. Testing helps answer questions like “Can I eat wheat? Dairy? Tomatoes?” by providing clear guidance on 115 different foods. This knowledge allows you to confidently eliminate or reduce these foods—either temporarily or permanently—giving your body the chance to reduce inflammation and focus on healing.

By removing the foods that trigger inflammation, your body can redirect its energy from fighting these irritants to repairing and regenerating cells, accelerating your journey to better health.

How to Get Started

  • Step 1: Schedule a Discovery Strategy Session or a Roadblocks to Health Strategy Session to determine if a food intolerance test is the right choice for you.

  • Step 2: Order your Food Intolerance Test, which evaluates 115 foods while specifically focusing on common triggers like wheat, dairy, grains, and nuts.

  • Step 3: Your test kit will arrive within 5-8 business days. We will work with you to find a lab or mobile service to complete the testing. Results typically arrive within 10-12 business days, and you’ll schedule a results session with Sheri to review your findings. If needed, personalized protocols will be recommended to support your healing process

Note: This test pairs perfectly with Nutrigenomic Testing to pinpoint food intolerances and determine which foods may be contributing to inflammation in your body.
